Torque

During calibration, clockwise and counter-clockwise torque measurements are carried out, and the data related to the calibration is presented on a calibration certificate along with the measurement uncertainty of each measurement. The emphasis is placed on the quality of the calibration certificate to assure compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard.

The lbf-ft is an SI-derived unit defined in the SI base unit of the N-m. Miller Instruments may report torque in Newton-meter or pound-force-ft units on a calibration certificate. Although lbf-ft is not an SI unit, the relationship between the Newton and meter is known, and thus measurement traceability to the SI may be established.
